About us
ICON Photonics proposes innovative high-performance optical coupling and packaging solutions for several applications : very high-speed optical communications, free-space communications, PIC, beam shaping… The company was founded in 2018 after more than 6 years of research on the optical coupling domain, which led to breakthrough solutions.

Charles is in charge of the business development and the global marketing strategy of ICON Photonics.

Jean-Luc Polleux, PhD
Jean-Luc leads the scientific development and scientific relations of ICON Photonics.
Professor at ESIEE Paris, 20 years of experience in Photonics and microwaves.

History
ICON Photonics is a spin-off of ESIEE Paris. The activity from the co-founders resulted in a breakthrough coupling solution, engaging the creation of the company.
- 2014: first POCs, international patent deposit
- 2010 – 2017: development of ICON Photonics’ Technology, products, and ecosystem
- 2018: ICON Photonics registration
- 2019: First customers
Facilities
The company has access to a 650m² clean-room and a specific laboratory that hosts our characterization platform and some of our resources. It enables the company to develop a wide range of capabilities, including prototyping, characterization & testing, and production from small to medium size series volume.
This reinforces our ability to adapt and customize our knowledge to each specific application and development.
